Ford to drive Five’s digital channels

Five has named Jeff Ford as its new managing director, digital channels and acquisitions.

Ford is returning to Five from Channel 4, where he has been director of acquisitions and Film 4 since 2005. He will rejoin Five early in 2009 and will be responsible for the RTL-owned broadcaster’s digital channels Fiver and Five US. Reporting directly to chair and chief executive Dawn Airey, Ford will sit on the Five Executive Board.

Before joining Five, Ford was controller of acquisitions for the ITV network, working for a variety of ITV companies including Anglia, Yorkshire and Carlton. He began his TV career at the BBC.
