Disney Cinemagic HD launches in UK

Disney is launching an HD version of Disney Cinemagic on the Sky Digital platform. The premium family movie channel will make its debut in the UK market in December in time for Christmas screenings of Ratatouille and Tinkerbell.

“We’re delighted to launch our first high definition channel in the UK and Disney Cinemagic’s focus on movies made it the ideal choice for the HD format. This deal with Sky underlines our commitment to using cutting edge technology to help create and distribute outstanding content and the HD format is set to add a new dimension to family’s enjoyment of Disney animated movies,” said Michael Cairns, general manager, Disney Cinemagic UK and Ireland.

The launch of Disney Cinemagic HD will take the number of high definition channels on the Sky platform to 29.
