Former AOL/Nick boss joining Murdoch?

Jonathan Miller, formerly chairman/CEO of AOL (2002-2006), is reported by the Los Angeles Times to be about to join News Corp as head of global digital strategy, reporting direct to Rupert Murdoch.

The strategy, says the paper, is for Miller to spur digital initiatives across the company. Miller co-founded investment firm Velocity Interactive Group, specialising in digital media. However, he is still locked into a ‘non-compete’ clause with AOL that expires in the next few weeks.

Prior to joining AOL he was president/CEO at USA Information & Services looking after the company’s Ticketmaster, Expedia and related brands. In the early 1990s he launched the Paramount Comedy Channel in London, joined NIck UK as MD, and went on to head up Nickelodeon’s international arm.
