DEN buys advanced EPG from NDS

DEN, one of India’s top 5 cable MSOs, is launching what is described as an advanced EPG service from NDS based on their MediaHighway middleware product for DEN’s Digitelly service.

The new EPG on the Digitelly service is a lot more than simply a guide to available channels, says NDS. “It includes sophisticated navigation tools and frequent data changes which supports the promotion of new services. Content options can be shown on a preview screen which enables the viewer to scroll through all channels before making a selection. Subscribers also have the added advantage of choosing to display the programme schedule by time of day or by date. When using the DEN EPG, viewers can interact with their pay-TV service, and in the future will have the option to include advanced features like VOD entertainment.”

DEN bought into the NDS package last March, including its VideoGuard conditional access.
