Big Brother rules: “No nudity”

Africa is about to get its latest edition of Big Brother, from Multichoice Africa, and with a record-breaking $200,000 prize for the winner. But there's to be no nudity, says the show's producers. Last year's episodes saw frequent displays - intentional as well as accidental - of bare bodies, and this upset many African governments resulting in threats to ban the show in some countries. There's another big difference: This year viewers will be voting for house guests they want to see staying - not to vote someone out. Contestants from 14 African countries, including Ghana, Angola, Botswana, Kenya, Malawi, Namibia, Nigeria, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe. Also, housemates from Mozambique and Ethiopia are expected to be part of this year's edition.

Subscribers to the Multichoice series in Nigeria have to ‘opt in' by sending an SMS text in order that Channel 190 can be freed up.
