Sky cuts off Deutsche Telekom

Sky has officially terminated its distribution contact with Deutsche Telekom for the T-Entertainment IPTV platform, both companies have confirmed, although the possibility of further talks remains.

Since Premiere announced plans to rebrand as Sky Deutschland the two platform operators have been increasingly competitive, signified in April when Telekom opted for Constantin Medien/DSF as its broadcast partner for Bundesliga coverage, replacing Premiere.

Separately, the AGM of Premiere AG has officially voted for a name change to Sky Deutschland AG, with a 99.8% approval. Board members Markus Tellenbach, Convers Media Services); Guillaume de Posch (Antenna Group); Dr Stefan Jentzsch (Perella Weinberg Partners) Tom Mockridge (Sky Italia); Mark Kaner (20th Century Fox Television Distribution), Steven Silvester Tomsic, (News Corp) also received approval.
