Fox Italy turns back clock

Fox Channels Italy is going for the nostalgia market with a new library channel that will draw on classic US series from the ’70s, ’80s and ’90s.

Fox Retro will launch on August 1 on the Sky Italia platform. Its line-up will include Starsky & Hutch, Charlie’s Angels, Mission Impossible, Different Strokes, Mork & Mindy, The Love Boat and Baywatch.

“Fox Channels Italy prides itself on producing top quality channels with strong, well-positioned brands that engage and connect with viewers,” Diego Londono, president of Fox Channels Italy, said in a statement. “Fox Retro definitely delivers on this mission, as well as on Sky commitment to give Italians the best quality and choice in their television offer.”

Fox Retro was developed by the team behind Fox Crime and Fox Life. It brings the number of channels offered by Fox in the Italian market to 13.
