Eutelsat maintains steady growth

Eutelsat has posted revenues of €940.5 million for the year ending June 30, a 7.2% increase on the previous year’s €877.8 million.

At the same time, its EBITDA rose 6.7% up year-on-year to €742.1 million.

Video applications accounted for 73.3% of the satellite operator’s revenues and rose by 4.7% year-on-year despite additional capacity only becoming available from this February.

There was particularly sustained demand for the 9, 16 and 36 degrees East and 7 degrees West neighbourhoods.

The number of HD channels broadcast by Eutelsat’s fleet rose 75% in the year to June 30 to reach 86, while the total number of channels reached 3,191.

Eutelsat says it plans to invest an average of €450million a year from June 2009 to June 2012, some of which will be allocated to four new satellites currently under construction.

Its financial targets for 2009-2012 include CAGR (Compound Annual Growth Rate) revenues of 7%, with 2009-2010 revenues of over €1 billion.
