ESPN signs Kevin Keegan to front its Premier League coverage

ESPN has signed former England and Newcastle United manager, Kevin Keegan, as lead analyst for its Premier League football coverage this season.

Keegan will appear alongside Ray Stubbs, the former BBC presenter, who fronts the Disney-owned US sports broadcaster's football coverage on its new British channel.

ESPN has also signed Guus Hiddink, the manager of Russia and former manager of Chelsea, as a pundit for an unconfirmed number of Premier League games this season.

The broadcaster snapped up the rights to 46 live Premier League matches following the collapse of Irish pay-TV operator Setanta's UK operation earlier this year.

"Between them they have won 23 major honours as both players and managers and will bring a wealth of experience, flair, opinion and enthusiasm to ESPN's coverage this season," said Jeroen Oerlemans, ESPN's vice president of TV channels for Europe, Middle East and Africa.

"Alongside Ray Stubbs and the rest of our presenters and commentators, we have a formidable team that will provide fantastic analysis and reaction to football fans around the UK," Oerlemans added.

ESPN's commentary team also includes Ian Wright, Chris Waddle and Peter Reid.
