Channel 4 confirms Duncan departing

Channel 4’s chief executive Andy Duncan is to leave the broadcaster at year-end. Chairman Luke Johnson is also being replaced and so a search is beginning to fill both positions.

Duncan has been at C4 since July 2004. Duncan said he had been in discussion with Johnson about his departure since June. "We have mutually agreed that this feels like the appropriate moment for me to hand on the baton to someone else and to move on to a fresh challenge after more than five years at the helm," he said.

Duncan added: "In my remaining months I intend to see through important further steps towards securing the best possible future for this organisation, including the update of our remit and the completion of a number of exciting commercial partnerships currently under discussion."
