Terry Wogan to take over Michael Ball's Sunday slot on Radio 2

Sir Terry Wogan's new BBC Radio 2 show will be broadcast live in front of a 350-strong audience in the Sunday lunchtime slot currently occupied by Michael Ball.

Wogan's new show will feature a mixture of guests and live musical performances and will be recorded at the Radio Theatre in BBC Broadcasting House in central London.

His new series will air in three blocks of 12 episodes from 7 February next year between 11am and 1pm. Ball, who currently occupies the slot, will present the show in four-week blocks when Wogan is away.

Wogan will step down from the Radio 2 breakfast show at the end of this year after a total of 27 years – in two stints – in the job. He will be replaced by Chris Evans.
