German pay-TV operator
Sky Deutschland plans to expand its high definition channel offering next year.
“We are currently discussing possible content,”
Sky spokesman Hans-Jürgen Croissant told industry publication Infosat. The Premiere successor currently carries seven HDTV channels in its line-up. “We will strive to add the most attractive complementary offer possible,” said Croissant.
The Munich-based broadcaster will in future concentrate exclusively on set-top-boxes which can receive HDTV channels. According to Croissant, HDTV-compatible hard drive receivers tailor-made for reception of
Sky’s programmes will become available in the first quarter of 2010.
