Sky releases Ofcom rebuttal

BSkyB has released its full, 277-page rebuttal, to UK regulator Ofcom’s consultation document on “proposed remedies” for the pay-TV market. Sky’s report comes along with six annexes from external consultants.

The rebuttal, which Sky released in precis form in September, is detailed, picking apart Ofcom’s arguments in attention-grabbing sub-headline form. The introduction alone contains sub-headers such as “Ofcom’s extreme agenda”; “Ofcom’s recourse to its sectoral powers is unsound”; and “Ofcom’s assessment of the evidence is skewed and its analytical approach defective”. Elsewhere in the document, Ofcom fares little better.
