Last Preparations for Eutelsat W7
The satellite of Eutelsat W7 is on 20 October at the spaceport Baikonour Cosmodrome arrived and currently undergoing final preparations for launch on 23 November by International Launch Services (ILS) aboard a Proton Breeze M rocket. The launch of the Proton rocket is for 23 November at 14:22 GMT (15:22 CET) planned.

Eutelsat's newest and currently most powerful satellite was built by Thales Alenia Space. W7 will kopositioniert with W4 at 36 degrees East, where the available resources on one of the fastest growing Eutelsat positions more than doubled.

W7 is equipped with 70 transponders, and 5 high-performance, fixed and steerable beams. The satellite provides Russia and Africa south of the Sahara with digital broadcasting services including pay-TV. In addition, W7 provides significant resources and flexibility for the growing television and telecommunications markets in Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Central Asia secure. The satellite is also developing further the services of Sesat 1, which is used for the positioning of W7 at 36 degrees East on an alternative location.

The launch of the W7 marks the latest step by Eutelsat's far-reaching investment program in new satellites, which will expand the in-orbit resources, renew and secure. Until the end of 2011, four more satellites will be launched (W3B, KA-SAT, W3C and Atlantic Bird 7). _www.eutelsat.de
