MTV awards to be held in Rome

The MTV Europe Music Awards will this year be held in Rome according to Brent Hansen, president and chief executive, MTV Networks Europe, announcing the news alongside Antonio Campo Dall'Orto, the managing director of MTV Networks Italia.
MTV's 11th music awards will be held in a purpose built tented structure in Rome's Tor Di Valle, with the awards sponsored by Replay Blue Jeans and L'Oreal Paris Studio Line. Replay sponsors the awards as part of a two-year partnership whilst L'Oreal sponsors the show for the first time this year, also as part of a new two-year deal, with further sponsors to be announced.

Previously the highly praised and viewed awards have been held in a host of European cities including: Barcelona, Frankfurt, Stockholm, Dublin, Milan, Rotterdam, London, Paris, Berlin and last year Edinburgh where Christina Aguilera proved a major hit.

Meanwhile MTV has announced plans to launch its own line of condoms with German company Condomi. MTV hope to have the condoms available in youth-oriented retail outlets including, ironically, Virgin Megastores.
