The digital channel Hollywood Cinema is switching off its 24 hour signal on the digital ASTRA satellite by July 17. In return it will provide a branded block for Fashion TV. This deal would provide a much bigger distribution for Hollywood Cinema, said the channel's founder and owner Marco Deutsch. Fashion TV is distributed via Astra and Eutelsat's Hotbird satellite and is carried by most large European cable systems. Michel Adam, founder and CEO of Fashion TV says that via the deal with Hollywood Cinema his network would be able to cover two of the future's most important life style topics, fashion and cinema. Hollywood Cinema, that only got launched last October, originally had planned for this year to implement other regional language versions besides the original English language version. The channel shows cinema trailers of recent and classic movies and provides backstage informations and star interviews to its audience it intends to find mainly with the subscribers of European cable networks. Hollywood Cinema is based in Munich, Germany, and is fully owned by its initiator Marco Deutsch, who used to be managing director of the German commercial TV channel tm3 and the Deutsche Telekom owned digital TV platform MSG. Fashion TV is after MTV and CNN the channel with the largest international distribution, not only in Europe (as I indicated) but also in US and the "emerging" Asian markets including China. | ||
