RTE Network 2, the second channel of Irish public broadcaster RTE, is to revert to its original name of RTE2. The change is one of a number of measures taking place in September, as part of a €500,000 revamp, which also includes the introduction of widescreen transmissions. Since its launch in November 1978 the channel has gone through several incarnations. In recent years it has sought to capture the youth audience much courted by multichannel television. | ||
