Pace Micro Technology has teamed up with Strong International, to extend its commercial reach in Germany, Austria and Scandinavia's digital TV markets.

Strong will distribute Pace's digital cable and satellite boxes in retail across Germany, Austria and Scandinavia. The companies said they will also explore additional strategic activities to maximise the full potential of Pace's technologies and products in these markets.

The appointment follows a succession of Pace business wins with Premiere and Kabel Deutschland, Germany's leading payTV operators and Viasat, the largest commercial TV operator in Northern Europe.

Pace was also awarded licences to sell its operator-ready digital boxes through retail. Pace's DS420 was the first Viasat* satellite box to feature NDS's Videoguard CA since the operator adopted the CA last year. The KDG and Premiere boxes measure just 3.5cm in height, 14cm in depth and 22cm in width, making them the smallest digital cable and satellite boxes in the German market.
