NTL and Sky resolve Irish advertising dispute

The long running dispute that prevented Sky Sports from offering its Irish advertising window to NTL customers has been resolved. Sky has introduced the advertising window to Sky Sports 1 and Sky Sports 2, but it has previously been restricted to its direct-to-home satellite customers. NTL had refused to take the Irish version of the channels because of a disagreement over the amount of money it should be paid for carrying the opt-out. Viewers on its network in the Republic had continued to see the UK version. It is expected the Irish version will be distributed to NTL customers within days.
