Cabot Communications has unveiled a new pre-integrated stack that can be deployed in every European market. Aurora brings together the transmission requirements of every DTT network in Europe, including MHP and the UK-specific MHEG-5, and is available across 15 different semiconductor platforms. The aim is to meet the market requirements of each country while eliminating the need for manufacturers to produce multiple variants of their product. Multiple languages are also catered for. In a related announcement, Cabot has announced a strategic partnership with Alticast for the delivery of DVB middleware with both MHEG-5 and MHP interactivity. Cabot currently provides middleware stacks to 65% of UK market, while Alticast can claim 60% of the Italian MHP market, though it is understood that not all of the 241,000 Italian boxes sold have the middleware. | ||
