TV1EU launch delayed

The launch of the pan-European channel TV1EU has been put back from September 20 to October 16. Little is known about the forthcoming service, with the most comprehensive reports appearing in the Slovak media, which are then monitored elsewhere in the region. What is clear, however, is that its owner Paul Hakan is Slovak born and expects TV1EU to be distributed throughout the EU via cable and satellite and made available in a total of 21 languages. Funded by advertising, TV1EU will have its programming department in Brussels, administrative headquarters in Slovakia and a studio in Budapest. Although it has yet to be confirmed, TV1EU claims to be working with the Prague-based TV equipment company Aveco, along with Poland’s TVP and Canal+ Cyfrowy.
