Zone Vision signs deals

The UK-based production, distribution and broadcasting company Zone Vision has announced a raft of new distribution deals for its proprietary channels in Central and Eastern Europe. These see Reality TV and Romantica secure carriage on UPC in Slovakia and MTIS in Belarus, while in Hungary Europa Europa has been added to the EMKTV and UPC cable systems. Elsewhere, Reality TV is to also be offered on UCN in Russia, while in Romania, Astral, one of the country’s largest MSOs, has renewed a contract deals for the carriage of Reality TV and Romantica. Taken together, these deals will see the channels add an extra 1.1 million to their subscriber total in Central and Eastern Europe. Separately, Zone Vision has both signed a distribution deal for BBC Prime in the region and agreed to represent it in Romania. Zone Vision was founded in 1991, and although UK-based initially focused its business on the distribution of TV programming to Central and Eastern Europe. Today, however, it is a global company and its three proprietary channels are viewed by over 134 million paying subscribers in at least 125 countries. It also has distribution agreements with over 30 leading TV channels.
