MacKenzie launches TalkSPORT DTV

TalkSPORT radio is launching its own DTV channel, in January. TalkSPORT TV will air on sky digital's channel 235 from 4pm to 10pm.

The programme will combine a broadcast of the radio output, with the addition of digital video content streamed from the TalkSPORT studio.

"There is a huge potential for the TV channel, and we will be developing it from now until the full-scale launch in January, after which we will continue development," said Bill Ridley, programme director at TalkSPORT radio.

TalkSPORT is owned by The Wireless Group, which is currently fighting a court case with RAJAR, the radio measurement authority, claiming that RAJAR's refusal to adopt electronic monitoring of audience figures has led to a substantial under-estimation of the total number of TalkSPORT's listeners.
