The BBC's commercial arm is working on plans to launch a global children's television channel. The putative BBC Worldwide channel will build on the success of the corporation's licence-fee funded UK digital channels, CBBC and CBeebies, and will challenge Disney's Jetix and Viacom's Nickelodeon. The channel could be operated as a joint venture. "It is still early days but there is definitely the potential to work with a partner to create a global kids' TV channel," a BBC Worldwide spokeswoman told media news site Brandrepublic.com. | ||
