The ITV News Channel has been pulled off-air in all regions except in London to allow engineering work to take place.

A Media Guardian report indicates that it will be available again in some regions "next month," although the paper did not say specifically which regions would be included.

The engineering work is needed to enable ITV to fit its new channel, ITV3, into its DTT multiplex. There is speculation that the engineering work will make it easier for regional news bulletins to be inserted into the DTT version of the News Channel, although there has been no official word on this from ITV.
