MGM Movie Channel in Germany and Austria

New movie channel, MGM Movie Channel, made by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Movies Factory will start regular broadcast in the frames of German Premiere World and in Premiere Austria packages from 1st of April 2003. MGM will broadcast for 24 hours movies made in 80`s and 90`s. Unfortunately, the channel`s broadcast will be encrypted.

MGM Movie Channel will show all made in this period by MGM Movies-Factory best movies, like "Terminator", "Rocky", "Westside Story" and "The Pink Panther". Majority of movies will be available in original version or with German dubbing.

Lithuanian LTV1 channel from Sirius

Lithuanian LTV1 television channel has start a digital broadcast from two frequencies of Scandinavian Sirius 3 - 5E satellite, in the frames the Viasat package. Channel LTV1 broadcasts in clear from both transponders. LR1 Lithuanian Radio station is available in two remanding audio paths.

LTV1 broadcasts from both 11,843H and 11,881H frequencies (SR=27500; FEC=3/4). Channel is only available in Lithuanian native version. Additionally, the test broadcast of encrypted TV3 Latvia channel test, which is informing about problems of GoBarkingMad channel are available from 11,843 H frequency. GoBarkingMad channel has recently change its name on Red Button Races.

BFBS package in clear

British digital package BFBS temporarily broadcasts in clear from transponder C6 of the Eutelsat W3 - 7E satellite. BFBS is especialy design for soldiers and their families, which leave and work in British Bases in Europe. Package is usualy encrypted in Cry***Works. However, from time to time, its broadcast disappear or became decrypted.

In the package are three BBC News 24 information channels, available in three different format, Channel Five and made by BBC, BFBS1. Package is not avaialble else where, except in Big monopoly from 28,2E.

BFBS parameters are:
Eutelsat W3-7E; 11,324V; SR=27500; FEC=1/2.

Green light to Premiere pay-TV acquisition

European anti-trust authorities have given a green light to the acquisition of collapsed pay-TV Premiere by private equity fund Permira. As a result of the merger Permira will own a 65.1% stake in Premiere, Premiere managers will own a 11.4% stake, while Premiere creditors HVB Group, Bayerische Landesbank, and BAWAG will own 10%, 10%, and 3.5% stakes respectively. The merger was affirmed through a "fast track" procedure, which gives a green light to a merger if no third parties have filed objections for one month.
