Thompson Joins forces with Direct Tv

The French manufacturer Thomson announced the signing of a contract with the American satellite television DirecTV for the supply of decoders. The amount of the contract was not specified, but it relates to "several hundreds of decoders", indicated a spokesman of the French group. DirecTV, taken over on Wednesday by Rupert Murdoch, with an account of nearly 11 million subscribers. Thomson had announced on March 25 , it had obtained other contracts of "several tens of million dollars" with various American groups of television, of which one of them is the Fox Television Station.
