BSkyB launches 'My Sky'

BSkyB has introduced a new system whereby every subscriber can access their account through their television set and get access to information on the broadcaster’s services. The Red Button-accessed service, knows as My Sky, will sit above the Sky Active portal which gives viewers instant news, games, puzzles, email, NHS Director, the National Lottery, TV listings and horoscopes.

Subscribers will be also be to view their Sky statement, browse pages relating to equipment and technical problems, subscribe to the Sky loyalty credit card and get information on BSkyB's range of other services.

The service is the latest attempt to increase interactivity with consumers as subscribers become more familiar with Red Button technology.

Ian Shepherd, managing director of Sky Interactive, said: "My Sky is a quick and convenient way for our customers to manage their Sky account.

"It's an alternative to picking up the telephone and another way for customers to communicate with us."

My Sky will be instantly available to 7.8 million BSkyB subscribers from 27 September.
