Somali Television Network has equipment auctioned | | Mogadishu Howlwadag Islamic court will hear a case against STN (Somali Television Network) satellite TV tomorrow. STN’s equipment that was confiscated three weeks ago after its employees sued it for unpaid salaries may go on auction if the company doesn't come up with other means of payment. Mogadishu courts usually judge on cases against unarmed people and businesses. Most large businesses in the city have their own militia, sometimes more powerful than the courts.
STN Satellite TV, headquartered in Atlanta, GA was launched last June. Its initial business model was to serve the Somali Diaspora with latest news from Somalia and the rest of the world through satellite and cable TV operators. The Mogadishu office is one of many branches in Somalia.
