Fancy a Flutter: 6,000 users in two months

Fancy a Flutter, the joint venture interactive betting channel between NDS and Rank Group, has registered more than 6,000 users since launch in mid-May 2003.

The channel, accessible via Sky's Interactive Main Menu in Sky Winzone and as a stand-alone menu listing, contains four fixed odds numbers games offering payouts of up to E700,000 to players over the age of 18. The games can be played in either as play-for-fun or play-for-real modes and are available 24 hours a day.

A new website, www.fancyaflutter.tv, has also launched to coincide with the campaign offering the chance to register for the channel and play the games for fun. Both the TV service and website are now branded exclusively in association with Mecca Bingo, which has a customer base of 3 million, around 35 per cent, of whom have subscriptions to sky digital.

The company recently launched an interactive advertising link on Channel 4's Big Brother-themed 4Active portal to coincide with the current series and is negotiating other commercial agreements with broadcasters.
