BskyB has sold its 9.9 per cent stake in Chelsea Football Club to Roman Abramovich, the Russian oil billionaire and new owner of the club. The broadcaster has already written down most of its E56 million investment in the Premier League club. The company bought the stake in Chelsea in March 2000. The satellite group is set to receive E8.2 million for its holding of ordinary shares, but it is not known how much BSkyB received for its preference shares. Abramovich has offered E0.52 a share for the club, valuing it at E83 million. | ||
