MTV brand:new and MTV Hits in Sky Italia

MTV has decided to deliver two new music channels for Italian digital package Sky Italia. The new channels are: MTV brand:new which would show new artists and MTV Hits whcih will show best sale hits and best songs. The MTV Hits will start at 28th of August.

The information was published at a press conference in Mediolan on the MTV Day party in Arena Parco Nord in Bologne, where Bandabardň, Carmen Consoli, Elio and le Storie Tese, Irene Grandi, Le Vibrazioni, Linea 77, Morgan, Neffa amd Nickelback perform.

The MTV Hits will start at 28th of August, MTV brand:new channels will begin to broadcast in 14th of September.
For the first two months, the broadcast of both channels will be probably available as a test. However there is no information, whether it will broadcast in clear or encrypted. At the moment two test broadcast of two MTV channels are available on transponder 59, frequency 11,900H (SR=27500, FEC 3/4).

Both new MTV channels will be available as the part of basic Sky Italia package on the 704 and 706 channels in the EPG. At the moment MTV Italia is available on the 108 channel.
