Digital Plus E12m push

Spain's new single digital DTH platform, Digital Plus, result of a merger between Canal Satelite Digital and Via Digital, is to make a full-frontal assault on the pay-TV market.

Hoping to capture 500,000 new subscribers by 2005, the company has just announced that in this new TV season (from September 03 to June 04) 3000 daily hours of programming across its 150 channels.

Cinema, sports (above all football with 1500 football matches per year) and bullfighting will be its main programming features to attract subscriptions, with Canal Plus as the number one premium channel in its offer. Digital Plus is now carrying out a massive campaign to promote its new programming line-up with an investment of E12 million.
