A crackdown on license fee evasion in Ireland means the Dublin District Court will hear cases against 1,100 people between Sep. 26 and the end of October. State-owned broadcaster RTE is hoping to maximize income this financial year in order to post a surplus of Euro1.3m ($1.5m). However, the company was running at a Euro13.5m deficit at the half-year stage. In the first two months of the year just 85,234 licenses were sold from a projected 92,939. | ||
