Sky has announced plans to launch the Crime & Investigation Network in the UK.

The channel - a joint venture with AETN - features "real crime, real people, real drama" with a themed lineup of investigative series, documentaries and specials.

Sky and AETN already collaborate on The History Channel and The Biography Channel ijn the UK. “The History Channel U.K. was the first international launch for AETN in 1995, and we are very pleased to see the venture expand to a third channel in the market,” said Steve Ronson, svp of enterprises at AETN.

The channel aims to launch via Sky in the third quarter of the year. Talks are also thought to be ongoing for a UK version of The Military History Channel in 2007.
