My System: Channel Master 1.8m, Lenson Heat 80cm triple feed 13° 19° & 28°, Triax TD110 with Jeager SuperJack, sky+ Pace v2, Panasonic TU-DSB20, Humax 5400, no name FTA and heap of old analogue receivers |
German public broadcasters ARD and ZDF will not transmit world cup on Hot Bird instead there will be textual information on screen informing viewers about the rights restrictions during games. Their transmissions Astra should remain unaffected but even that is not certain, Spanish TV station La Sexta is suing Germans claiming FTA world cup on Astra is breach of their exclusive rights contract however it's predicted lawsuit is unlikely to succeed. My System: | Does anyone remember when they started this business of barring FTA channels on satellite from broadcasting any live games from the World Cup (or the European Cup)? I remember during EURO 96 and WC 1998 at least, I had no problem watching the games on satellite (unencrypted) on both ARD and ZDF and some other channels (RAI, TVE, France etc). Oh, and by the way, do those bans on broadcasting also include games which have been recorded and are shown later that same day (or even the day after). | ||
