BBC inks raft of Worldwide deals

A BBC branded block will feature on Hong Kong's TVBQ, one of Hong Kong terrestrial TVB's new multichannel offerings. TVBQ will feature on the Galaxy platform, which is set to launch before end-'03. In Korea, public broadcaster KBS has renewed its natural history output deal with the BBC Worldwide, the commercial arm of the UK public broadcaster. Prime TV in New Zealand has sealed a deal for a BBC branded kids' block. The UK broadcaster will provide shows including Tweenies and Noddy in the 30 minute morning block. In Europe a strategic partnership has been agreed with Spain's public broadcaster TVE. A five-year output and presales agreement covers kids, factual and other blue chip titles, the BBC said.
