Quiz TV to close down

After more than two years of innovative broadcasting, and having successfully introduced the call-in television format to the UK market, the owners of Quiz TV have decided today to close down the business in the UK primarily due to increasing competitive pressure and uncertainty surrounding the regulatory environment. As of today, the live broadcast will cease.

Quiz TV was launched on June 14, 2004, and was the pioneering channel for call TV in the UK. It created a call TV boom in the UK with its entertaining and innovative format and has seen its business-model copied by all terrestrial broadcasters.

A Quiz TV spokesperson said: “We would like to thank our employees for their hard work as well as all of our loyal viewers who have enjoyed the programming over the past two years. We have converted over 14.000 viewers into happy winners and have given away more than 2.2 mn. GBP in Cash Prizes.”
