Leading UK commercial broadcaster ITV has struck a deal with DTH platform
Sky Digital to offer interactive advertising to its 6.9m subscribers. ITV will uses
Sky's WTVML interactive authoring system to make it easier for advertisers to create interactive ads, that will then be available to those watching ITV via
Sky. Although interactive ads have appeared on
Sky for several years, ITV hopes that this will boost iTV ad revenues. Leading ITV member companies Carlton and Granada are also selling iTV airtime via their ad sales houses.
