SkyPerfecTV teams up with NTT

Japan's satellite-delivered SkyPerfecTV will offer its services through the nation's largest telecommunications provider, Nippon Telegraph & Telephone (NTT) later this year. SkyPerfecTV is Japan's pay TV leader and it will offer its service in areas where NTT's fibre optic or asynchronous digital lines operate and allow subscribers to download quickly.

SkyPerfecTV would only comment that it was considering offering the service, although reports in Tokyo said that the company will start a joint venture with NTT in the third quarter of this year. The news sent SkyPerfecTV's shares 14 per cent higher on the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
