Teletext Holidays on February 23

Teletext Holidays is to launch its own channel via the sky digital platform on February 23, and the company said demand from advertisers has been so strong that a second channel is being considered for later this year.

Nishma Patel, sales director at Teletext Holidays, said: "The other travel channel players - TV Travel Shop, Thomas Cook TV, Travel Deals Direct - are agents pushing a variety of suppliers' products.

"Ours is a marketplace in which many different retailers and operators can sell what they want."

The channel will focus on the Mediterranean and long-haul holidays and will also feature self-drive and domestic breaks over the summer period.

Describing the new channel, Nishma Patel said:

"It's more Watchdog or Top Gear than This Morning."
