Inflatable Dish

I saw this on Engadget earlier, I thought you guys would be interested!

It's a send and receive dish that, well, inflates!

My System: 65cm dish for Sky+ linked to all rooms, all with own remote and magic eye. Second box in home office (no multi room subscription just use card from main box if needed) 3rd box in bedroom Freeview in other rooms. Free cable in dining room Two 53cm mi

Whats the point of it? Its bigger, takes longer to assemble and is more complicated than a standard portable dish.

My System: Traxis DBS 3500 Matchbox Pro USB receiver 90cm and 1.8m dish

Winner of the "Most Enterprising Installation Of The Year" award

I think it's a GREAT idea for emergencies, disasters and events. They must be a lot easier to transport and store than a regular system. And if wind is not too much of an issue this application would ideal. They could also be reused!

I'm still not convinced, If you watch the U tube video, it comes in 2 big cases, and takes quite a while to blow up. I'm sure normal portable dishes ( some fold up ) would be more reliable and robust.

I suppose did does have some practical uses if you were a war reporter or
something and you needed a portable or backup system.

I doubt war reporters would use these..

Hey with a bit more psi a 1m dish could go a long way!

When people ask me what I think, I tell them: "I think all of the meat around the pig's ass is pork."
