Does the 54% signal show in the set top box level or on sat meter. As i get around 20% during day time and around 40% at night time. Please update us.

Also advise if 54% is signal level or signal quality ? As level should in the range of 145~200 and quality also like 10~20~30~40 on the set top box supplied by Tata Sky

My System: Yet to get a system from India

"Which satellite is Tata Sky using?
Tata Sky is using INSAT 4A, which is an Indian satellite launched by ISRO in December 2005"

Am attaching footprints picture of INSAT 4A which clearly shows that KU Band reception is way into the Arabian Gulf.

And just to reconfirm the question asked by Amadeus, well the good news bro is that I live in Qatar and my friends and I have several tatasky installations here and they're all working fine.

The signal quality we receive is upto 24%, while the minimum quality required is 18%. Recently during the rains and cloudy days a week ago or so. The channels were scrambled due to the low reception level. However, they're back on perfectly fine. Fortunately, it doesn't rain much here in the Gulf! As for Dubai, you guys are more closer to India than us so I am quite sure you will easily receive 30+% of reception at any given point of time.

FYI, I have installed a 180 CMS dish on top of my villa.

Hi Ray,

I was planning to get TATA Sky from India but the dealer also says it wont work in Dubai. Any specific requirements for TATA to make it work in Dubai, apart from the bigger dish?

You need 6 feet single panel dish (One Piece - Not Panel Type) or 180 CMS atleast. I think Eurostar have one and go for a Invacom LNB with Prime Focus Special Feed available in market.

Tata Sky In Australia

This article
http://in.news.yahoo.com/051224/43/61p8p.html

says that foot print is available in Europe and Australia. As I am not much into satellite communications I don't know about D Lock.

I just called up Tata Sky India and they are just keeping on saying that we don't offer services outside India.

Guys if any one of you have been able to procure services successfully please let me know as I am v.v.keen on getting this services activated.

Thanks in advance

My System: none- newbee

Hello All,

I am a newbie to satellite TV. I have read some of the posts on tata sky in Dubai and found the discussions interesting. I also read about Dubai airport custom confiscating the digicomp's. I would like to get a tata sky digicomp for my home in Dubai.

- I read that a digicomp can be bought here in Dubai for an extra cost(?), where can I buy one? and how much would one pay for it?
- Has anyone had luck bringing it in thru Sharjah airport in the last few months?

Sorry. Can someone tell me how to post a new thread?

Thanks.

Hi all,
You can get Tata Sky & Dish Tv in Riyadh & from there onwards, like Dammam, Bahrain towards India.(see world map)
You need a good dish like Satline forget about one piece offset, segment is fine, size in Riyadh should be 240 cm, Dammam, Bahrain should be 210 cm.
You will need a good prime focus Ku lnb like Santech,Satgold Fuji or Strong Ku lnb.
Lastly you will need a good technician who has done the job before & not some dude who is gonna try it for the first time, it needs a lot of patience.

INSAT 4B signal strength based on the above would be around 60%
INSAT 4A is the same as above.
NSS 6 is weak at around 40%

In india 60cms is used by Tata Sky and works well all over the country. Some people say during heavy rains they have otherwise rest of the year it works fine.
