TataSky-Sun Row: SC refuses relief to TataSky

The Supreme Court today refused to give any interim relief to DTH operator TataSky, which has challenged the stay granted by Madras High Court in a case pertaining to sharing of signals by broadcaster Sun TV.

A bench comprising Justice B N Agarwal and Justice P P Noalekar declined any interim relief to TataSky, and posted the matter for hearing on April 27

Insat 4B Now Operational

SC dismisses TataSky plea in Sun TV channels case

The Supreme Court today dismissed the special leave petition filed by TataSky in the case against Sun TV, stating that since the Madras High Court has taken cognizance of the matter and issued notice to TataSky, the SLP could not be allowed.

Sun TV to use Irdeto's security solution for DTH service

Global content security provider Irdeto today said it has tied up with Sun TV for its new direct-to-home (DTH) satellite television service.

Sun Direct TV would use Irdeto's conditional access system to manage content and revenues in the satellite broadcasting venture and has placed an initial order for 5,00,000 Irdeto smart cards, a company release said.

The channel is set to introduce its DTH pay TV network following the launch of a next-generation Insat communications satellite by the Indian Space Research Organisation in September. (Again delayed?? And who will get those transponders in Insat 4B? Bharti ??

Given the recent political development, I somehow had a feeling that it would delay the Sun DTH launch. Let's hope, it crosses all hurdles soon and we soon see INSAT 4B being fully utilized.

The channels surya kiran Etc started on Sep 8 in TATASKY.DishtvAlso fully configured their system to launch these channels in 3-4 days.It directly told from Dishtv Office.TO Dishtv dealers like us.
