I've got a fixed installation to hispasat at the moment in Manchester on a 1.0 m Channel Master dish. The installation is rock solid, and I have never had any outage due to weather etc. At the time I got it installed, I took advice from a variety of sources, and nobody really recommended less than 1.0 m for reliable reception from Manchester. You could be lucky and get away with less.

For (obvious) reasons, I'm going to motorise my dish shortly ...

My System: Sky+, DB 7000s, Gemini 4.3 in flash, Var on USB stick. Transparent 80cm Dish, Moteck SG2100 DiseqC motor, lots of legacy gear. Meters: Satlook Digital NIT, Unaohm EP313, Swires Annie 204 Spectrum, Rover ST-4 Spectrum.

It's around 75cm in width, but you need a Skyware LNB on it so that you can adjust the skew to west of south.

Hispasat reception in UK

I had a standard digibox and Via Digital subscription in Northern Scotland. Reception was fine on standard sky minidish receiving a solid signal in all weathers I was surprised but happy..

Wotsat says that most channels on Hispasat are receivable on a 60cm dish, however I have a 80cm set up in the south east and can only get a handful of channels such as SexyHot but with a low signal strength! my systems consists of a humax 5100ci, xcam 1.04, titcard and 80cm solid dish.

I`d expect better preformance from your dish size, how old is the LNB ?

My System: IDD CI24 ECONO MM Penta 1.20 Galaxy II 1.2Mtr Polar MTG yes it has been on the arc for 21 years and is still driven by a modified wiper motor from a Ford Anglia. It's like me sometimes groans but always performs
