My System: Sky+, DB 7000s, Gemini 4.3 in flash, Var on USB stick. Transparent 80cm Dish, Moteck SG2100 DiseqC motor, lots of legacy gear. Meters: Satlook Digital NIT, Unaohm EP313, Swires Annie 204 Spectrum, Rover ST-4 Spectrum.

If you're not into feed hunting, then you could get a Dreambox and a V-Box to convert the DiseqC commands to 36v.

Whatever you choose will depend on what your viewing preferences are.

Go for the simple, easy option. Cheap Technomate patched box + v-Box.

My System: Sky HD, TM6800HD, Manhattan Plaza ST550 and TM1500 CI+. 1.0m dish and 36v motor, Panasonic DVD HDD recorder and Panasonic video/DVD recorder. Sony G800 HD TV stand/surround system + Sony KDL40W2000. Infinity USB, Elvis, CAS1, CAS2.

Whilst a 'cheap' Technomate is a very good option, some V boxes cost almost as much as the receiver. Bit annoying really.

Yes, but not surprising, as they have more expensive hardware, not just a low power motherboard and cheap chip.

Good point although I've yet to get any channels on a V-Box.

I was in the same position last week, the Horizontal to Verticle switching went, so visited Ebay and got a replacement, the AD3000IP's go for £50-£80 on there.

Good luck.
