My System: Technomate 1500. 70cm
Orbit network at 8W

Can anyone please advise where I can buy a decoder ?

A London installer offered me a decoder + 12 months for 245 quid.
(just decoder -I can install myself)

This is a rip-off, according to Orbit web site, its $20 month + free decoder.

All Iwant is GMA pinoy TV.

Though they do say on the GMA web site that it will be availabe in the UK in 2008 - sky maybe ??

Thanks

Phil

My System: Pace Sky HD, DM7000s, CubeRevo 3000HDPVR, Transparent 80cm Dish, Moteck SG2100 DiseqC motor, lots of legacy gear. Meters: Satlook Digital NIT, Televes H45 Digital Spectrum analyser.

Sounds about right to me, do you think he's going to do it for nothing? He's probably had to pay a premium to a contact in the subscription area, plus get it all shipped over. With the greatest of respect, the fact that you only want the package for one particular channel is your problem, not his.

If you are not happy to pay that, then your choices are simple, either find someone who lives in the area which Orbit serves, so that they can get it for you, or go there and secure the decoder and package yourself.

The price seems right most dealers offer that package for £245 with 12 months alfa (Arabic no English channels) or 6 moths mega package,

Ignore what you see on the orbit site as orbit only offer 2 packages in Europe which are the mega or alfa they will NOT let you subscribe to the Filipino channels,

Also orbit will issue orbit irdeto smart cards to dealers in Europe by the end of the month so there is now need to use the dreaded Philips xd300 decoder with embedded seca 1.5 any more,

I already have a orbit irdeto smart card as i complained to orbit and they sent me one which i use in my vantage receiver,

And other thing is if you do end up subscribeing to orbit make sure you have a big dish for eurobird 2 at 25.5 east as channels are dropping from 8'W like flies and there is only 2 transponders left on 8'w

Thanks.

But from the web site it says the filipino channels are part of the Alfa package....should I believe this ?

Maybe I should wait until cards are available ?

Any idea on cost and where I can get them from ? Direct from orbit ?

Have you got that card working in one of the card slots or do you have to use an irdeto CAM? I know that Conax, Viaccess and Videoguard work in the 200 series but never heard of anyone getting Irdeto to work in the card slot.

Thanks for reply.....

Where did you get your Orbit card from ? Is that for 26E ?

I rang them in Saudi and they simply said I can not subscribe.....
