Blog Entries: 1 My System: Sky UK. FTA analogue & digital satellite from 6 fixed dishes (5E/7E/9E/10E/13E/16E/ 19E/23E/28E) Pace MSS100, Echostar IP3000VA, Technomate TM-1000D, Dreambox 7020S ![]() The last noble sat warrior to fly the olden flag of Analogue | Not fta no. There are one or two that show occasional programmes in the evening - the Middle Eastern countries for example, but no real entertainment channels.

| No FTA channels. The only British channel is the Viaccess encrypted BBC Prime which can be subscribed to as a DTH. Excellent qualty with teletext. http://www.satellites.co.uk/satellit...-international There are foreign packages which have original audio (English mostly), but the subscription is quite expensive outside the countries. Try to buy Sky Italia package. Very good value for money in Italy. You might be lucky and find satellite dealers in your country who might be able to help you with this package at reasonable price. problem is you need an Italian address and marry the smartcard to the STB. http://www.satellites.co.uk/satellite/sky-italia Alternatively, can you receive the Astra 28.2E satellite? | ||

I had a 1.35m dish, until a blew off the top of my apartment block in a recent storm..... so no more 28.2 for me. i have 19.2 and Spanish Freeview, which allows just bearable viewing. Oh well, have to wait until I leave Spain in the autumn for better viewing!

| Excuse me for asking this, but what is the problem with putting another dish for 28.2E? I personally need a silly size dish and at an incredible cost to receive this satellite (part of the channels only) in my location, so I find it hard to understand this point. | ||

My System: Sky Freesat in UK, Astra 1 ana/dig in UK using Technomate -5000 DAPCI, Astra 2 South Beam and Eurobird in Spain. | If you only have a smaller dish now, you should be able to pick up the south beam on Astra 2. While you will not get BBC or ITV programmes etc., you will get a lot of other FTA tv and radio channels including True Movies, Zone Horror, and many more. Might keep you going until the Autumn!

| OK, Thanks. Now I understand. But surely there are ways to keep the dish fixed firmly to the ground? I insisted at the time of the installation that my 1.6m dish would be fixed to the ground with special ground mounting fixture and the installer kept telling that there is no need, as this would have been more time for him to spend. It didn't move since. But we don't have here high wind like what you seem to have. | ||
