Israeli Channels in the UK?

Hi

Is it possible to view Israeli TV channels (for example 2 and 10) using a regular satellite receiver and SKy dish pointed to AMOS 1 from a location in Hertfordshire, England?

If not, is there any other way to get these channels in England?

Many thanks

My System: Pace Sky HD, DM7000s, CubeRevo 3000HDPVR, Transparent 80cm Dish, Moteck SG2100 DiseqC motor, lots of legacy gear. Meters: Satlook Digital NIT, Televes H45 Digital Spectrum analyser.

No, not from the UK, you will need a friend with a subscription, living within the coverage area and with a good broadband connection at both ends, then you could use a slingbox.

Hi

Many thanks

So, in theory, if I knew someone in Israel with a subscription to Yes or Hot, I could then buy a slingbox and tap into their channels here in England?

Channels 2 and 10 can't be received on the European beam.
There is a channel called The Israeli Network Frequency 10971 Hor. on Hot Bird 13E which puts some Israeli progrmmes. Need a subscription, a receiver with CI CAM with Viaccess support.
I don't know why their link in Lyngsat doesn't show their website.
You can try contacting them for a subscription, if this service still offered.

Are there any free israeli channels I can receive using a basic set up (basic receiver and SKY dish)?

Alternatively can I view such channels via the internet (it would make my wife's year 1)?

None that I know of.
Check Lyngsat to make sure.
Amos 3 will be launched soon. Let's hope they might have better coverage for Europe. Chances are not.

Yes. You might "pay" for this by letting them watch channels on Astra 28.2E from your side and would need a very good and costly broadband connection on both locations.
Might be an interesting thing to setup.
Alternatively, get someone to record favourite programmes on DVD and post once in a while if it is really that important.
