My System: FS-4200 Digital Satellite Receiver and a 60cm dish.
Free French Channels on Atlantic Bird 3

I recently invested in a FS-4200 Digital Satellite Receiver and a 60cm dish for receiving free view French channels. I was able to tune into the signals from Atlantic Bird 3 for France 2, France 3, France 5, LCP and Arte but it is all scrambled! What do I need to do to unscramble these channels? I am a new comer to the interesting world of satellites and digital receivers - please help.

My System: Pace Sky HD, DM7000s, CubeRevo 3000HDPVR, Transparent 80cm Dish, Moteck SG2100 DiseqC motor, lots of legacy gear. Meters: Satlook Digital NIT, Televes H45 Digital Spectrum analyser.

Scan frequencies 11591 V and 11512, 11607 V for the free to air channels.

Looking at these channels in Lyngsat
_http://www.lyngsat.com/ab3.html
There are two sets
11591 V FTA in digital on super beam
12564 V (France 2) and 12606 V (France 5 and Arte) in PAL on super beam.
If you can't open them, then you are probably looking at the PAL set (need analogue receiver), although I doubt if a digital receiver can show PAL encrypted channels in their channels list.
Let us know the frequencies of the unscrambled channels.
Try to scan for 11591 V with SR=20000 FEC=2/3 (if the receiver didn't catch them in your last scan).

Another possibility is that the digital channels are encrypted and that Lyngsat is not updated.

The transponders I mention above host the free to air channels HB, have tested them this morning.

My System: Zone1, DSI8215 SkyHD, Thomson DSI4214, TF5000CI, Dreambox DM800 HD PVR - Nab BH0.12, TM-5200D, Gibertini 104cm, SNH-031, 36v Actuator, Vbox-II, 42°E to 30°W, Sling Media, Televes H45 Digital Processing Analyser, Satlook Micro+G2 NIT, Rover SDM 1s

I can second that. Lyngsat is not that up to date to be fair.

If you look at flysat, you will clearly see the info there

Although, have checked again and it shows them clear on 11591 V
tp KB4, must of missed them

Thank you for the information. I finally managed to get the free view French Channels. The main problem was with my LNB. I changed it for a Universal LNB with low noise 0.3db, LO 9.75 / 10.6GHz. It cost UK£19.99 in my local Maplin. Then readjusted the dish - the signal from Atlantic Bird came in full strength. This time, I found free view France 2, 3, etc in the first search itself.

Thank you again for the excellent advice and support!
